Kheer or rice pudding is a sweet dish made on some special occasions and celebrations in Nepal. It is very easy to cook and taste good.
Ingredients:
Milk - 2 litres
Rice - 1/2 cup
Grated coconut- 2 tbsp
Almond chopped - 2 tbsp
Pitted date chopped - 2 tbsp
Cashew nut chopped - 2 tbsp
Raisin - 2 tbsp
Sugar - 3/4 cup
Cardamom powder - 1 tsp
Recipe:
1) Let the milk comes to boil.
2) Wash the rice and soad in water.
3) After milk is boiled, cook it further 5 more minutes.
4) When milk is thicken slightly, add soaked rice.
5) Keep stirring.
6) After about 15 minutes, rice is cooked. It should be cooked until rice blends with milk.
7) When milk is reduced by half, add dry fruits.
8) Let it cook for few minutes.
9) When rice is blended properly, add sugar and cardamom powder.
10) Mix properly and cover with lid.
11) Cook with lid for 2 more minutes under low flame.
12) Turn off the heat and serve it.
